Story of Wood and Hand-Crafted Furniture

From tree to a chair or to a table, there is an intricate story as one follows the process of production from origin to creation.

It is important that our customers understand that we only use native British hardwoods obtained mainly from Northern England and Scotland. We carefully source and personally select the timber that we use.

The hardwood logs that we obtain are cut into slabs, carefully sticked and left to season.
This natural drying process is extremely important and can take years. It is initially stacked outside and then moved under cover to complete the drying process.

By the time timber is fully seasoned, we have a personal knowledge of the grain, colour and character of each slabbed plank so that we can select them for optimum results in each specific project. It is this personal knowledge and understanding of the actual raw materials we use that ensures that our labour of love results in perfection of products.
